About the Images

With the café glowing in holiday lights and the first snowflakes drifting past the windows, it only felt right to highlight the festive fashions and décor that brought this cozy scene to life. If you’re looking to add a little extra sparkle to your SL winter wardrobe—or your holiday photos—here are all the cheerful goodies featured in today’s post!

Serena’s sweater immediately reminded me of one I used to wear every Christmas: cozy, cheerful, and perfectly nostalgic. The Christmas Cardigan by Sorumin captures that same holiday charm and comes in six color packs, each offering four variations. The included turtleneck layers beautifully beneath it and can be customized with a color-change HUD. You can grab a demo of this festive favorite at Santa Inc.

While you’re exploring Santa Inc., don’t miss the adorable holiday coffees Serena and Ella Rose are sipping. Created by Off-Line, the set includes iced coffees (with or without lids) and a whipped drink, each with poses for both hands, plus a decor version for your holiday scenes. They’re the perfect finishing touch for any winter outing.

Ella Rose’s sweater is one of the new Holly Ugly Sweaters by Pink Cream Pie. I couldn’t resist the “Should I Sleigh or Should I Go” version—especially since I’ve been binge-watching Stranger Things lately (IYKYK). The complete 2025 collection is available now at the Pink Cream Pie mainstore.

Also featured in this post is the lovely Holiday Café backdrop by Synnergy, beautifully decorated with garlands, poinsettias, and all the cozy touches of the season. Even better: it’s on sale this week for just 69L!

And speaking of Synnergy, I hope you’re stopping by the mainstore each day to pick up their generous Advent calendar gifts. The calendar is free for group members (and the group itself is free to join), plus you can still collect any gifts you may have missed. Ella Rose’s festive beanie hat, for example, was the gift from Day 3 and comes in four holiday-ready colors. Synnergy is wonderfully generous with their creations, and this year’s Advent lineup is one you definitely don’t want to miss!

The Story

The café glowed with Christmas warmth the moment Serena and Ella Rose stepped inside. Soft golden lights wrapped around the window frames, garlands trailed along the counter, and a cheerful poinsettia sat at the center of every table with a burst of holiday color. Festive music hummed low in the background—cheery enough to lift spirits, gentle enough not to interrupt conversation.

Serena picked up her iced coffee (because even in December she insisted cold brew was a lifestyle, not a season), while Ella Rose wrapped both hands around a steaming gingerbread latte. They chose a table near the wide front windows, where winter sunlight spilled across the floor in soft, buttery stripes.

Ella Rose watched Serena settle into her seat, noticing that familiar thoughtful tilt of her lips. Something was brewing… and not just the espresso.

“So,” Ella Rose began, sliding into her chair. “Your text said you had actual news. Not ‘I found another half-off advent calendar’ type news.”

Serena laughed, but it didn’t have its usual sparkle. “It’s real news.”

Ella Rose leaned in with appropriate dramatic interest.

“Gavin asked me out for Saturday night,” Serena said, picking up her iced coffee but not drinking from it. “He wants me to get really dressed up. And he made reservations somewhere fancy.”

Ella Rose’s heart fluttered with excitement—carefully contained behind a calm, supportive smile. Oh, if only she knew…

“That sounds lovely!” she said, just brightly enough. “Do you know where you’re going?”

“No,” Serena sighed. “But he’s been working late so much lately… extra shifts at the clinic, weekend calls, everything. I think he feels guilty for being away and wants to make it up to me.”

Ella Rose hid a knowing grin behind her latte. Serena wasn’t wrong about the long hours, but she didn’t know the real reason. Gavin wasn’t simply tending to late-night emergencies at the vet clinic. He was picking up extra cases, covering colleagues’ shifts, quietly saving every bit he could. And two weeks earlier, he’d tugged Ella Rose along to help him choose the perfect engagement ring for the woman sitting across from her now.

“He keeps saying this ‘big project’ is almost finished,” Serena continued. “I think he’s trying too hard to compensate.”

Ella Rose reached across the table and gently squeezed her hand. “Serena, he’s not trying to compensate. That man adores you. Whatever he has planned, I promise it comes from a good place.”

Serena looked down at her drink, a tiny smile tugging at her mouth. “You really think so?”

Ella Rose felt warmth bloom in her chest: protective, secretive, joyful. “I know so.”

She didn’t say I’ve seen the ring or he made sure it sparkles exactly like your smile in the morning light, but the truth shimmered in the quiet between them.

“At the very least,” Ella Rose added playfully, “enjoy being swept away somewhere fancy by a handsome man who thinks you’re the best thing ever to happen to him.”

Serena’s cheeks pinked. “Okay, okay. I’ll stop worrying.”

“And,” Ella Rose added, raising her cup, “wear something that makes him forget every late shift he’s ever worked.”

They clinked cups and laughed as if the season itself had joined in.

Time slipped by easily as they talked: about Christmas plans, about Luna’s overly competitive holiday baking, about how many poinsettias were too many for home décor (Serena insisted there was no such limit). Their coffees dwindled; their laughter didn’t.

Eventually, Ella Rose glanced around and blinked. “Um… Serena?”

Serena followed her gaze.

The café was empty.

Completely empty.

Every table was spotless, every chair tucked in neatly. The poinsettias glowed softly in the window light, untouched. Even the barista had slipped into the back, leaving the front room utterly still except for the twinkle of fairy lights and the last faint notes of a Christmas song.

“Oh my gosh,” Serena whispered. “Did we clear out the entire café?”

Ella Rose grinned. “Either that, or we’ve talked so long we became part of the Christmas décor.”

Serena laughed as she packed up her things. “Time to go before they lock us in with the poinsettias.”

They headed for the door, their reflections glimmering in the glass as snowflakes drifted lazily outside. The café lights glowed behind them, warm and bright, as if sealing their secret-filled afternoon in amber.

And across town, Gavin was double-checking tomorrow’s surgery schedule, patting the pocket where the ring box rested—just to reassure himself it was still there—already imagining the look on Serena’s face when Saturday came.
