About the Image

I had the idea to photograph the three friends posing as witches in a cemetery. The lovely dresses on Ella Rose (left) and Serena (right) are from Belle Epoque, and Luna’s dress is from Baiastice. The pose is from Extra.

The cemetery sort of fell into my lap, so to speak. Synnergy was doing a Halloween Advent calendar – most of which I missed – but on the last day, they gave away this fabulous cemetery backdrop (no longer available, but it might come back later). The headstones are actually a bit farther apart, but I moved them closer so they would all be in the shot.

Hocus Pocus in Hollow Grove

On a Halloween night filled with mystic allure, Serena, Luna, and Ella Rose ventured into a spellbinding adventure that would forever weave their destinies into a tapestry of enchantment. Dressed to the nines in outfits that would have made the Sanderson sisters proud, they arrived at the Hollow Grove Cemetery. The full moon shone with a peculiar luminance.

Serena, draped in a flowing black dress, exuded an air of sorcery. Luna, with her ebony gown and curly mane of dark hair, resembled a moon goddess. Ella Rose carried a book of shadows, her eyes sparkling with the secrets it contained. The three friends looked as if they had walked out of the pages of a spellbook.

As they crossed the threshold into the cemetery, the night revealed its magical wonders. Their flashlights danced over ancient tombstones, revealing the names of long-forgotten souls. Whispering winds and rustling leaves seemed to carry the echoes of bygone voices.

Their first stop was the grave of Eliza Ravenscroft, a fabled witch of centuries past. Serena sprinkled a vial of sparkling dust over the tombstone with a theatrical flair, claiming it to be “faery enchantment.” Luna and Ella Rose joined in, reciting playful incantations, their voices echoing through the graveyard.

Continuing their mystical pilgrimage, they stumbled upon an ancient tree with a mysterious hollow at its base. Luna, her curiosity aflame, reached inside and retrieved an ancient, leather-bound grimoire adorned with cryptic symbols. The pages radiated with a soft, ethereal light.

Unearthing Enchantment

Ella Rose trembled with excitement and began to decipher the spells within. Suddenly, the ground quaked beneath them, and the night grew thick with enchantment. Misty apparitions materialized, and the ancient tree creaked with ancient magic. The friends exchanged wide-eyed glances.

Serena, her façade of confidence faltering, whispered, “We’ve triggered a Halloween hex! Quickly, we must recite the incantation in reverse to quell it!”

The trio gathered around the book of shadows, reciting the incantation backward with fervor. The mist began to dissipate, and the earth stilled. The ancient tree sighed with satisfaction.

Relief washed over the friends, and they chuckled nervously. Their Halloween adventure had taken an unforeseen magical turn, but they embraced the exhilaration of the unknown.

With a final nod to Eliza Ravenscroft’s resting place, they departed the cemetery. The moon, now shining brighter than ever, seemed to bid them farewell. Faint, mystical laughter lingered in the night air.

The three friends knew that this Halloween had gifted them a spellbinding tale, one that wove together their lives in the enchantment of Hollow Grove Cemetery. Serena, Luna, and Ella Rose would cherish the memory of their bewitching adventure for all their days as if it were a spell woven by the most powerful of witches.
