About the Images
Serena is dressed in Belle Epoque’s newest release for the current round of FaMESHed. Mona features ten gorgeous plaid options, everything from soft, romantic pastels to bold, statement-making colors. There’s even a striking red tartan that feels tailor-made for the upcoming holiday season. Be sure to pick up a demo of Mona while you’re browsing FaMESHed!
She’s also sporting the Amara Glasses by Deep Static, a chic new release available at this round of Uber. The included HUD is packed with both frame and lens texture options, making it effortless to match your glasses to any outfit. Definitely grab a demo if you’re building up your fall accessory wishlist.
The scene wouldn’t be complete without the adorable cats scattered around the office. They’re part of Aardvark’s recent Paws & Reflect gacha, a playful collection featuring seventeen different cat poses, two of them rares. One of the rares even makes an appearance on the floor in this photo (the napping-bopping duo).
And finally, Serena’s pose comes from the Brewed Bliss pack by -Extra-, which was featured in last weekend’s GOAT 66–96 sale. If you hurry, you might still catch it at the discounted price!

The Story
Serena had been warned—gently, politely, and with a knowing smile—that her potential new client was “a bit of a cat enthusiast.” She had nodded along on the phone, imagining a tabby or two curled in a window. Perhaps a framed photo of a beloved Siamese. Nothing she couldn’t handle for the sake of landing a big photography contract.
But when she stepped through the glass door of WhiskerWorks Creative Studio, she froze.
There were cats. So. Many. Cats.
A receptionist, impeccably calm in the face of pandemonium, handed Serena a steaming caramel latte with a warm “Welcome! Ms. Hawthorne will be right with you.” Serena barely managed a thank-you before her attention was pulled to the floor: a calico lay there, valiantly attempting to nap while a mischievous black-and-white cat repeatedly tapped it on the head, as if insisting that playtime was absolutely mandatory.
In a plush armchair against the wall, another cat snoozed peacefully, curled tightly in a cozy ball. And at a desk by the window, a curious tabby stood upright, peeking over the top of the chair like a furry little supervisor evaluating her first impressions.
Serena wrapped both hands around the latte, trying to ground herself with the warmth and sweetness of the sugar. She was, undeniably, a dog person. Dogs made sense. Dogs were predictable. Dogs didn’t silently judge you with the withering scrutiny of small, fuzzy CEOs.
Still, she smoothed her jacket, lifted her chin, and called out, “Hello? I have an appointment with Ms. Hawthorne?”
From behind the desk came the rustle of footsteps, and two more cats darted out, tails flicking, circling her like she had entered their secret order.
A moment later, a stylish woman with a silver-streaked bob and cat-eye glasses appeared, brushing fur from her blazer with the ease of someone who had long ago accepted it as part of her daily look.
“Serena Snowfield?” she asked warmly. “Hi, I’m Marjorie Hawthorne. I see you’ve already met the team!”
Serena stepped carefully around the calico-and-botherer duo. “Yes, I have,” she said, mustering a professional smile. “They seem very… engaged.”
“Oh, endlessly,” Marjorie said with a laugh. She gestured to the sleeping cat in the armchair. “You can sit there. Just give Suki a little nudge.”
Serena nudged. Suki snored louder.
“Here,” Marjorie said, scooping the cat with practiced ease and depositing him into a nearby cat bed without waking him. “We’ll let her continue her beauty rest.”
Serena settled onto the chair as Marjorie perched at the edge of her desk, flipping open a digital portfolio of brand mockups.
“Your photography is stunning,” Marjorie began. “Exactly what I want for our fall campaign: warm, natural, authentic. Images that feel like real moments, not staged compositions.”
Serena nodded, trying to focus. But from the corner of her eye, she caught the tabby at the desk still peering at her over the chair back, as if judging her answers. Meanwhile, the black-and-white cat on the floor delivered yet another determined bop to the calico, who let out a soft groan of defeat.
“These guys really keep things lively,” Serena said, taking a careful sip of the latte the receptionist had thoughtfully provided.
“Oh, you have no idea,” Marjorie replied. “But don’t worry; on location for the actual shoot, it’ll be much less distracting. Well… unless we’re working with one of our shelter partners. Then anything goes.”
Serena relaxed a bit.
This was chaos, yes, but a warm, lived-in chaos that somehow made the studio feel homey. The cats weren’t just pets; they were an integral part of the place’s rhythm. And while Serena’s own world revolved around dogs, this odd, feline-filled ecosystem had its own charm.
“Well,” Serena said at last, smiling as the tabby blinked at her in what she interpreted as approval, “I’m in. Just tell me when and where.”
Marjorie beamed. “Wonderful! I have a feeling the cats will really take to you. And you to them,” she winked.
Serena glanced around at the nappers, the instigator, and the little chair-peeker.
“Honestly,” she said, laughing softly, “I think I already have.”
