It's a Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad Unicorn World

After taking a couple of weeks off for surgery, I returned to find that Bad Unicorn had moved to an entirely new and fabulously over-the-top location. But before we dive into that… let’s talk fashion!

Serena is wearing the new City Summer Dress by Fashionably Dead, which is available now at the current round of Dubai. This breezy, figure-skimming dress comes in a variety of gorgeous prints, and includes a HUD that lets you add an ultra-high side slit—perfect for those sultry summer nights. As a certified dog lover, I couldn’t resist the new bracelet by Yummy at Collabor88. It features a smiling pup that’s too cute to pass up, and comes with a HUD for customizing the metal color, beads, and charms. Prefer felines? There’s a charming kitty version, too!

Serena’s hair is Sweetness, the latest release from Faga. You can’t see the full length here, but trust me, it’s long, flowing, and dramatic. Available in four versatile color HUDs to suit your mood.

Ok, back to where I started. Behold: Bad Unicorn World (Beta), a playful, pixelated sim that looks like it leapt straight out of a retro video game (which I’m pretty sure is the point).

The new sim is surrounded by towering red “plastic” castles and bursting with vibrant, whimsical details. As you explore, keep an eye out for glowing gold coins scattered across the landscape. Each coin is worth ten points; you can redeem your points for prizes at the front desk inside the castle on the right (see image below for reference).

But watch your step! The lava pits are deadly… and yes, I learned this the hard way. Fall in, and your avatar will dramatically catch fire before being sent face-down back to the landing point. Even the water isn’t safe; after slipping into a shallow pond, I was chased by an angry piranha that latched onto my avatar and refused to let go for several minutes. (Don’t worry, it eventually goes away.)

The whole experience is unexpectedly addictive. I completely lost track of time while gleefully collecting coins like a pixel princess on a mission. Rumor has it there are hidden gems worth $5L hidden around the sim, though I haven’t tracked any of those down yet.

BTW, in the featured image (top), Serena and Gavin are cooling off after their coin-chasing adventure with the Snow Cone prizes you can score with your hard-earned points. These are just one of the fun rewards waiting for you at Bad Unicorn World!

*The Lava Pit: Lots of coins to collect, but the lava is deadly!*

The Story

Serena and Gavin spent the afternoon adventuring through Bad Unicorn World, the new digital theme park and store where pixel castles rise above the lava field and golden coins sparkle like candy across the landscape. The whole park felt like stepping inside a retro video game—complete with bouncy terrain and leaderboard screens daring you to beat the high score.

They dashed and giggled their way across the lava field, raced across bridges, and even posed for selfies under a massive rainbow. Every time they found a coin, it added to their digital point stash, which Serena checked obsessively at the “Check Points Here” signs. When they’d finally collected enough points, they made a beeline for the Bad Unicorn store’s front desk, a red kiosk shaped like a castle turret, cheerfully manned by a cube-headed knight who was busily working on a glowing laptop.

After some playful arguing (“You do not need more socks, Gavin!”), they settled on something sweet and perfect for the summer heat: snow cones! Gavin picked cherry, deep red and piled high, while Serena grabbed the rainbow swirl, its sugary colors mirroring the rainbow outside.

Snow cones in hand, they wandered outside for a last look at Bad Unicorn World. Serena licked a bit of blue syrup from her spoon and grinned. “Next time I’m saving up for a Dead Uni Floatie for the pool.”

Gavin raised his cup. “Only if I can get the Toe-rrific Slides!”

With the digital sunset melting into the ocean, the two savored their well-earned prizes and the whimsical joy of a day well spent in Bad Unicorn World.
