The Witching Season has officially begun, and Serena, Luna, and Ella Rose are stirring up a little Halloween magic!

Today’s post is inspired by the Witching Season pose from -Extra-. Designed for three avatars, it includes the cauldron and spellbook seen in the scene. I made a few slight adjustments to the poses—particularly Serena’s, since her left boot was sinking into the ground. I also repositioned her leg to keep her modestly posed in her short skirt. The Story

Under the silvery breath of a crescent moon, the air shimmered with enchantment. The forest outside Thornvale Cottage hummed with the whispers of rustling leaves, distant owls, and the faint fizz of fireflies that weren’t entirely natural.

Serena sat on the mossy ground, a worn spellbook open in her lap. Magical light pooled around her fingers, making the ink glow faintly as she mouthed the words. “Double the charm, triple the glow…” Her soft voice carried like music through the chill night.

Luna leaned over the great iron cauldron bubbling with lavender light. Steam rose in curling tendrils, faintly smelling of sugar and smoke. “I told you,” she said, stirring with a carved rowan stick, “if we add one more moon petal, we’ll wake the spirits of the orchard again.”

“That only happened once,” Serena reminded her, eyes still on the page. “And they were very polite ghosts.”

At the other side of the cauldron, Ella Rose giggled, her crimson curls catching the flicker of witch-light. “Polite or not, I say we risk it. What’s Halloween without a little mischief?” She dropped a handful of sparkling pumpkin seeds into the potion, which hissed in protest and then burst into a swirl of violet mist.

For a moment, everything froze—the air, the fireflies, even the shadows. Then the cauldron sang, a low, sweet hum that made the trees tremble. Luna’s eyes went wide. “Uh oh.”

The mist shot skyward, painting the night with glittering trails. Dozens of tiny pumpkin lanterns blinked awake, bobbing like enchanted will-o’-wisps. From somewhere deep in the woods came the soft padding of unseen paws.

Ella Rose grinned. “See? Festive!”

Serena frowned, closing her book. “Festive wasn’t exactly the goal. That potion was supposed to protect Thornvale Cottage for the winter.”

“Maybe it’s just a more… cheerful protection,” Luna offered, peering over the rim of the cauldron.

The trio found that pumpkins had floated from the clearing and neatly arranged themselves along the walkway leading to the front door of Thornvale Cottage. Each one glowed from within, filled with candy, charms, and bits of enchanted parchment that shimmered faintly with spelllight. A soft jingling sound followed the lights, like laughter from invisible trick-or-treaters.

Serena pressed a hand to her temple. “Wonderful. We’ve accidentally conjured the spirit of Halloween hospitality.”

Luna chuckled, lifting one of the glowing pumpkins to examine its sugary contents. “Well, if the spirits want candy, we might as well keep them happy.”

Ella Rose twirled in delight, her red-and-black dress flaring like flame. “Exactly! Every witch needs a little sugar and chaos in her magic.”

The three of them stood before the sturdy oak door, its surface bathed in warm, pumpkin light. Around them, the enchanted decorations flickered gently, as though the cottage itself were smiling at their antics. Serena finally laughed, unable to resist the charm of it all.

“Next year,” she said, “I’m in charge of the spell ingredients.”

“Next year,” Luna replied, “I’m bringing extra candy. Just in case.”

Ella Rose winked. “And next year, maybe we should invite the ghosts back too.”

Their laughter mingled with the hum of magic as the glowing pumpkins pulsed softly, lighting up the front of Thornvale Cottage. And as the last spark drifted skyward, the Witching Season truly began.
