Featured in today’s post is Bad Unicorn’s Lawn Mower. Although it may not be a brand-new release, it’s still a hilarious way to spend a summer afternoon in SL!

The wearable Lawn Mower comes in six color options and includes motor sound effects for extra fun. A handy blue HUD lets you resize and change textures with ease. Walk to activate the animated grass particles (not visible here), or enable them manually for an added touch of realism.

And because this is Bad Unicorn, of course, there’s a mischievous side! Left-click the mower to “hit” other avatars (they’ll have to accept the animation first), but don’t worry, no permanent injuries will be sustained.

Whether you’re tidying up a virtual yard or just looking for some playful summer shenanigans, the Bad Unicorn Lawnmower is a quirky must-have.

The Story

It was one of those warm late summer afternoons when the sunlight painted lazy stripes across Serena’s back porch. She was holed up inside, hunched over her laptop with a deadline looming, when her phone buzzed with a text from her gardener: Sorry, can’t make it today.

Her heart sank. The lawn was already looking wild, with tufts of grass leaning in every direction. Serena chewed her lip, then glanced at Gavin’s name in her messages. He had the day off from the vet clinic. He wouldn’t want to mow the lawn, but…

A few minutes later, Gavin arrived, pushing up his glasses and eyeing the unruly yard like it had personally offended him. His gray tank top clung to him in the heat, and his hair stuck damp to his forehead.

“You owe me for this,: he grumbled, hands gripping the handle of the old red mower.

Serena leaned against the porch post, holding her laptop. “I know. I’ll order you a pizza. Extra cheese. Deal?”

He rolled his eyes but got to work, muttering under his breath about how he’d signed up to care for animals, not grass. His border collie, Milo, trotted happily at his side, sniffing every patch of green and pouncing on shadows. The dog’s enthusiasm was a sharp contrast to Gavin’s grim determination.

With each pass of the mower, the yard grew tidier. Sweat beaded on Gavin’s arms, the sun glinted off his glasses, and Milo darted dangerously close to the blades until Gavin barked his name. “Milo! Out of the way, you furry menace!”

From the porch, Serena watched the whole scene with amusement. There was something endearing about the sight: her boyfriend mowing a lawn he didn’t want to mow, swearing under his breath, but doing it anyway because he loved her. The steady hum of the mower blended with Milo’s occasional barks and the summer breeze that drifted through the yard.

When Gavin finally cut the last strip, he shut off the mower with a triumphant snap. His expression was part victory, part exhaustion. Milo flopped into the grass beside him, tongue lolling.

Serena came down the steps with a tall glass of lemonade and handed it to him. “See? You both survived.”

He gulped half the glass in one go, then shot her a look. “Pizza. Pronto. And maybe a foot rub.”

She laughed, leaning up to kiss his cheek. “Done. Thank you, love.”

And just like that, Gavin decided maybe—just maybe—he didn’t mind mowing the lawn after all.
